The console market is seeing a surge of handheld gaming consoles, with many brands recently announcing their own. Microsoft may join ASUS and Nintendo with their first Xbox handheld console.
Microsoft’s planned Xbox Handheld Console
A series of leaked documents from the FTC vs Microsoft case recently revealed the list of new games and remasters planned to launch soon. But that’s not all. The leak also revealed that a portable Xbox console was also in development. The documents offer us a glimpse at this upcoming Xbox handheld console that will likely rival other gaming handhelds like the ASUS ROG Ally, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, etc.

Looking at the image, the handheld Xbox console appears to have a large screen with buttons on either side. With portable gaming becoming more popular, Microsoft’s next Xbox might have the company finally break into the handheld console market. This leak also hints at Microsoft’s plans to expand its gaming hardware lineup with a device for gamers who prefer playing on the go.
If this leak is accurate, the big three console brands (Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo) will have their portable consoles. Nintendo is rumoured to be working on a sequel to its popular Switch console. Meanwhile, Sony recently announced the PlayStation Portal, a dedicated Remote Play device. It is unclear when the portable Xbox will launch, but the release could be scheduled sometime within the next few years.
New Games, Remasters, and Consoles
