This week has been huge for the video gaming industry, with brand-new titles launching this summer from some of the best studios, including FromSoftware. Here’s a look at the three massive releases this week, in addition to stand-out releases earlier this year like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Armored Cover VI: Fire of Rubicon

Launch Date: 25th August 2023 (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One)
Armoured Core VI: Fire of Rubicon is a highly anticipated game from FromSoftware. The company is behind SoulsBorne games and was even behind last year’s game of the year, Elden Ring. But with the sixth mainline entry in the Armored Core series, the company is returning to its old roots. It is returning to the giant mecha fighting game that takes a sharp 180 from the dark fantasy titles it’s known for. You’re no longer fighting dragons, but taking on giant machines of war and mass destruction.
Fort Solis

Launch Date: 22nd August 2023 (PC, PS5)
Fort Solis is a new survival horror game on the block set in a classic sci-fi universe. It has all the makings to be a great horror title that will have you struggle to survive the night on Mars. It even features a star-studded cast with known names like Roger Clark, Troy Baker, and Julia Brown. The game is a psychological thriller that will have you take on the role of Jack Leary. Prepare to investigate the distress signal at the Mars mining base and solve the mystery revolving around the inhabitants on planet Red.
Immortals of Aveum

Launch Date: 22nd August 2023 (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S)
First-person shooters are one of the most popular genres within gaming. You’ve probably fired guns from this perspective, but prepare to fire out magic spells in Immortals of Aveum. Many are also referring to this game as the “Call of Duty with Magic” and is the first game developed by Ascendant Studios. This gaming company is relatively new but is a host to industry veterans who have been behind massive franchises like Telltale, Call of Duty, and Dead Space. So get ready to drop into a war-torn fantasy world, filling the shoes of the sorcerer Jak.
