Trails Through Daybreak is the first game in a new saga in the Calvard Republic, a region experiencing economic growth and social unrest after a brief war. The game follows Van Arkride, a Spriggan, who works as a detective, negotiator, and bounty hunter. He takes on various requests that lead him to uncover the secrets and conspiracies of Calvard.
It is the eleventh mainline entry in the Trails series, after the events of The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie. The game features a new combat system that combines real-time action and turn-based strategy, allowing players to switch between modes anytime. The game also introduces an alignment system that affects the story and gameplay based on Van’s choices and actions. Depending on whether he leans towards law, chaos, or a mix of both, he will encounter different allies, enemies, events, and dialogue options.
Trails Through Daybreak will also come to Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in the summer of 2024. The game will have both English and Japanese audio options, as well as English subtitles.
