The Last Case of Benedict Fox, a side-scrolling action adventure platformer, was released for Xbox Series X/S and PC earlier this year. It will soon be available on PS5 with new and improved features. The game was awarded the “Most Wanted Microsoft Xbox Game” at Gamescom 2022. Sony’s PlayStation 5 will run at the maximum 4K resolution with 60 frames per second, taking advantage of the console’s high-end hardware.
The game follows the story of Benedict Fox, a self-proclaimed detective with a demon companion that allows him to descend into the consciousness of the dead. He continues his quest to uncover the truth behind a mysterious family tragedy while facing the dangers and puzzles of Limbo, a realm of life and death.
The PS5 version, dubbed the Definitive Edition of Last Case of Benedict Fox, will feature overhauled combat and platforming mechanics, enhancements to visuals, user interface, enemy artificial intelligence, puzzles, new gameplay features, and more. Rogue Games CEO Matt Casamassina states, “These are substantial, meaningful gameplay and visual improvements that take what was already an absolutely gorgeous, extremely engaging Metroidvania to new heights on PlayStation 5”.

The title will have sport dramatic control and speed improvements to combat and platforming gameplay, said the publisher. Plot Twist Studio, the game developer, also released a trailer for the PlayStation 5 version to showcase the new features. It’s worth noting that players have pointed out some issues with the game’s slower-paced combat and platforming mechanics, as well as some bugs and glitches in the past. The Definitive Edition aims to address these issues and provide a smoother and more satisfying experience for PS5 players.
The release date for The Last Case of Benedict Fox: Definitive Edition has not been announced yet, but it is expected to be soon. The game was available on Xbox Game Pass on Day One when it launched in April this year, and it can also be played on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.
