Ubisoft is preparing for one of the most highly anticipated gaming releases of 2023. The sci-fi adventure game will take you on a journey to explore thousands of celestial objects scattered across various star systems. Here’s everything you need to know about the game’s early access, preload, and release date.
When does Starfield Launch?
Ubisoft officially confirmed that its massive 125GB game will be released on September 6, which means that its launch is right around the corner. Those who don’t wish to buy the title for full price can even get Starfield on day one with the Xbox Game Pass. So, for a small subscription fee, Xbox is offering you the game at no extra charge next month. The French game developer even released a list of space documentaries that you can check out before diving into the game’s universe.

How to Pre-Load Starfield?
While the company will release Starfield on September 6, pre-loading the title is already available across different platforms. For those unaware, pre-loading basically means that you download the base game ahead of its official release. So, you will only need to download the day one patch to run the new titles. On the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, the pre-load has a size of 125GB, while players on the PC will have to free up an eye-watering 140GB of storage. Ubisoft will allow pre-loading for both platforms on August 30, just a week prior to the full release.

When is Early Access kicking off?
Starfield’s early access period is set to go live just five days before the official launch. This means buyers of the Digital Premium Edition, Premium Edition Upgrade, or Constellation Edition can try out the game starting from September 1. This isn’t the only benefit offered to gamers that pay extra. Ubisoft will also ship a bunch of goodies depending on which tier players buy. Those who pre-order will also get access to the Old Mars Skin Pack, which includes three in-game cosmetics that helps you out in the early hours of Starfield.
