Fans of the popular farming simulator game Stardew Valley can expect a significant update soon. Developer ConcernedApe has shared some exciting details about the upcoming 1.6 update on Twitter, promising plenty of new content. The update, originally teased in April 2023, is targeted towards modders and is anticipated to offer an abundance of fresh features.
According to the tweet, the 1.6 update will include:
- A new farm type
- A new major festival
- Two new mini-festivals
- New late-game content that expands on each of the skill areas
- New items and crafting recipes
- Joja’s alternatives to some of the end-game quests
- 100+ new lines of dialogue
- Winter outfits for the villagers
- A new type of reward for completing billboard requests
- (PC) Support for 8-player multiplayer
- Many small additions and adjustments
- New secrets and more
The tweet also states that the content has no release date yet. This means that the Stardew Valley 1.6 update is still a work in progress. However, the developer has been teasing the update for five months, giving clues such as “secrets”, “dialogue”, and “festival”. Back then, ConcernedApe mentioned that the forthcoming update would be “mostly changes for modders (which will make it easier & more powerful to mod).”
The game allows players to create their farms, explore the town and surrounding areas, make friends and romance with the villagers, and participate in various events and activities. In addition, the game has received several updates since its launch in 2016, adding new features such as multiplayer mode, new farm maps, new characters, new crops and animals, new buildings and machines, new quests and events, and more.
The 1.6 update is expected to be the biggest one yet, adding even more depth and variety to the game. Fans already love the indie game for its versatility. It has been some time since the last update came for the title, with February 2023 being the last month when the game received an update on Android.
