Fans of the Star Wars Jedi series have reason to celebrate, as the third installment of the action-adventure game has been confirmed by none other than the actor who portrays the Jedi protagonist, Cameron Monaghan. During a panel at Ocala Comic Con 2023, Monaghan revealed that he is working on Star Wars Jedi 3.
“We’re working on the third. We’re in the process of doing it right now,” Monaghan said. “That’s a big undertaking, and there have been some conversations so far, but hopefully, when all things are said and done, we’ll be able to go in and make something really cool for you guys again”, he said.
Monaghan did not provide details about the plot, setting, or release date of the third game, but he expressed his enthusiasm for continuing Cal’s journey in a faraway galaxy. Monaghan has been praised for his performance as Cal Kestis, a former Padawan who survived Order 66 and became a fugitive from the Empire.
In the first game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, released in 2019, Cal embarked on a quest to restore the Jedi Order and faced off against the Inquisitors and Darth Vader. In the sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, released in 2023, Cal continued his fight against the Empire and explored new planets and mysteries of the Force.

The Star Wars Jedi series was developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by EA. The third instalment in the Star Wars series is expected to be a PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S game, as the previous games were released on these platforms. However, there is no official confirmation from Respawn or EA yet.
Considering the four-year gap between the first and the second game, developing the third game may take several years. Fans may have to wait until 2027 or later to play Star Wars Jedi 3. The Star Wars Jedi series is not the only game in development. EA is also working on a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which was announced back in 2021. It is a classic RPG set thousands of years before the Skywalker saga. Aspyr Media is developing the remake, and will feature updated graphics, gameplay, and story elements.
