Samsung has unveiled the world’s first dual-UHD screen-equipped gaming monitor, the Odyssey Neo G9. The new gaming monitor from Samsung comes with a massive 57-inch panel and a 1000R curvature. It also boasts of a suite of high-speed connectivity options. Read on to know more about the new gaming monitor from Samsung.
Samsung Odyssey Neo G9: Price, Features

The Odyssey Neo G9 57” will be available in the US in October for $2,499.99 (approx Rs 2,06,000), while in the UK, the monitor is available to preorder for £2,199.99 (approx Rs 2,30,000).
As for its specs and features, the Odyssey Neo G9 has a 1000R curvature in the 57″ 32:9 screen, which is as wide as two 32” UHD monitors, wrapping around users to immerse them in their games, according to the company. It has a resolution of 7680 x 2160 pixels. Quantum Matrix Technology powers Samsung’s Quantum Mini LED lighting in the screen, which offers smaller, more discrete dimming zones. As a result, there’s a better distinction between light and dark areas of the screen, with less blooming and higher contrast.
Further, the monitor also supports VESA DisplayHDR 1000 paired with 1,000 nit peak brightness for a brighter picture in HDR mode. The panel supports a 240Hz refresh rate and 1 ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time for a blur-free image. Plus, there’s support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro that syncs the screen for a stable, lag-free picture.
The Odyssey Neo G9 57” offers VESA-certified DisplayPort (DP) 2.1 connectivity in addition to DP2.1, HDMI 2.1 and a USB hub. Apart from this, the monitor has Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture modes to deliver multiple inputs at a glance. Further, the monitor utilises Auto Source Switch+ to instantly connect to new devices without going into the input sources menu. It is held up by an ergonomic stand and has Core Lighting+ and CoreSync to match the mood of the game with ambient lighting.

Samsung Odyssey Ark 55” (2023): Availability, Specs

Apart from the Odyssey Neo G9 57”, the Korean manufacturer also debuted the 2023 model of the Odyssey Ark 55”. The Odyssey Ark, the world’s first 55-inch 1000R curved gaming screen, has been meaningfully upgraded. The monitor has a 165Hz refresh rate, 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution. and 1ms GTG response time and further gets a cockpit mode for when its in vertical orientation.
Newly added features to the Odyssey Ark (G97NC model) include the new Samsung MultiView, which allows users to see up to 4 inputs on the screen at once. It also significantly enhances split-screen capabilities. Samsung says that one screen with multiple inputs keeps desks streamlined and clutter-free, so gamers can focus on the game at hand.
In the new MultiView, users can simultaneously see input from three HDMI ports and the DP1.4 connection. This new DP input can also support 4K UHD streams. The monitor now also serves as a single source for your computer peripherals, as it now gets a Keyboard, Video and Mouse (KVM) switch feature. This makes the Ark a single command station for an enhanced multitasking experience across multiple devices. Users can now control all the devices connected to the monitor with a single mouse and keyboard setup.
The 2023 Odyssey Ark is slated for an October release while the pre-orders will go live on Samsung’s own website sometime in September. The price of the monitor is unknown as of yet. Last year’s Samsung Odyssey Ark 55-inch monitor came to India at a price of Rs 2,19,999.
