Running Fable, a new cross-platform multiplayer racing-strategy game was released on August 9, 2023 for Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series S and Series X. The game is developed by Seashell Studio, an independent game studio based out of Mexico. The title combines the concept of racing with the challenge of item placement on the track in a strategic manner.
How to play Running Fable?
The game aims to create a unique racing experience for up to 10 players. Each round in the game consists of two phases, where in the first one, players can strategically place items and traps all over the map, such as land mines, rockets, speed boosts, and portals. The other opponents won’t be able to see the placements until the race starts, and the same would go for the player as well.
Now in the second phase, players have to run, jump, dodge, fly, and reach their way up to the trophy, while avoiding or using the items and traps placed by themselves or the opponents. There’s an element of surprise and unpredictability in each track as the trap and other item locations are unknown to each player.

Players can also customise their characters with a great variety of personalised clothing items including hats, outfits, and taunt animations. They can do so in between each round within the online lobby. The game further supports online co-op and competitive modes, as well as local split-screen multiplayer.
