Why is this such a big deal?
In recent years, smartphones have become increasingly more powerful, running graphically intense 3D games. But these mobile devices were always seen as a cutdown version of their PC and console counterparts. However, Apple is shaking up this dynamic with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The latest flagship iPhone models have the Apple A17 Pro processor, which supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing. Simply put, it has enough horsepower to run console-grade video games. Typically, one would need a partner console to stream the game to their smartphones to enjoy AAA titles on the go. So, Apple’s new iPhones could start a major change in the mobile gaming industry.
