Fans of Pokémon are excitedly awaiting the release of the very first Downloadable Content (DLC) for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the newest additions to the popular franchise. The DLC, named The Teal Mask, is part of a two-part expansion called The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, and is set to be released on September 13th, 2023.

What to expect from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s first DLC update?

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are the latest Nintendo Switch games from the iconic series. This will be their first DLC since the games launched back in November 2022. The Teal Mask will take players to a new region called Kitakami, which is inspired by traditional Japanese culture. There, they will encounter new Pokémon, characters, and challenges. According to the official website, the DLC will also introduce a new feature called the Teal Mask Festival, where players can participate in various activities and events with their Pokémon.

Furthermore, it is reportedly set to bring a much-awaited feature where players will be able to customise the character’s outfits, including traditional outfits inspired by the culture surrounding Kitakami. New traditional outfits are set to be introduced, such as the kimono or haori-like garb, among other accessories. Alongside, new Hairstyles will also be included.

Some of the leaked Pokémon that is set to be a part of the DLC include Bloodmoon Ursaluna, a new form of Ursaluna that can see in the dark with its left eye, and Sinistcha, a part of the evolutionary line of Poltchageist that resembles a teacup. In addition to this, Centra Leaks claims that these two Pokemon will be part of the whole line-up that consists of Munkidori, Ogerpon, Okidogi, Fezandipiti, Poltchageist, and Dipplin.

Part 2 of the DLC, called The Indigo Disk, is planned for release sometime during winter this year. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the first open-world RPGs in the Pokémon series. They feature 110 new Pokémon, along with two new regional forms. They take place in the Paldea region, based on the Iberian Peninsula.
