The widely popular mobile game Pokemon GO has been launched in Hindi by The Pokémon Company (TPC) in collaboration with Niantic. This announcement was made on September 14th, which is celebrated as Hindi Divas in India. The game has now been localized in Hindi, making it the sixth language in Asia and the 15th language globally in which it is available.
Many Pokémon characters have been renamed in Hindi to enhance user experience further, according to the company. Starting with 151 creatures, Pokémon has continued its journey, where it has reached over 1,000 creatures at this point. TPC has now decided to strengthen its commitment to the Indian market by renaming more than 800 Pokémon characters in Hindi.
The company says that it aims to make Pokémon even more relatable for Indian fans. Furthermore, the official Pokédex page has also been updated with the new Hindi names, and users will soon be able to search for information and details related to all Pokémon in Hindi.
Aside from this, one of the company’s most popular games has also received a Desi makeover. TPC and Niantic came together in 2016 to make the experience of catching Pokémon realistic and relatable using AR and launched the Pokemon GO game on mobile. To further elevate the experience of the Indian Pokemon GO community, the companies have now added Hindi language support to this globally popular game.
