Pokemon Go will soon have a new update with fresh content. Niantic, the company responsible for the game, will introduce a crossover event with Detective Pikachu, which is highly anticipated.
Detective Pikachu
For those unaware, Detective Pikachu is an adventure game in which the player controls the protagonist, Tim Goodman. The title has you uncover various plots and solve mysteries with Detective Pikachu. It was released in 2016, and the series even has a mystery comedy movie spin-off movie loosely based on this game.
Pokemon Go x Detective Pikachu: When does it go live?

The upcoming crossover in the Pokemon Go mobile game will be officially released on 5 October 2023. This special event also arrives just ahead of the release of the sequel to the original Detective Pikachu game. In other words, it’s basically a Pokemon x Pokemon event, where the popular mobile game is used to promote the next entry in the franchise. Niantic and The Pokemon Company announced the event recently and it will add a seasonal event and other bonuses.
What’s new?
A few Pokemon will appear more often now, like a special version of Pikachu that fits the Detective Pikachu event. But this is not all. Other Pokemon wearing a hat will start appearing more often as well. This includes a detective cap-wearing Slowpoke, Alolan Exeggutor, Magikarp, Xatu, Bellossom, Lotad, Chimecho, Bronzor, Ducklett, Cutiefly, and Falinks. Pokemon Go players also have the chance to find shiny versions of Pikachu, Magikarp, Lotad, Chimecho, Bronzor, Growlithe, Slowpoke, and Alolan Exeggutor.

You can find Sudowoodo, Snivy, and Rowlet as well after completing Field Research with Shiny versions of the first two Pokemon on the table. Players need a separate Field Research task to find the Pikachu that wears the detective hat. But it is worth noting that you only have a limited time to complete these tasks.
