Philips has launched its latest addition to the Evnia 8000 gaming monitor series – the Evnia 49M2C8900 OLED gaming monitor. The display is a 48.9-inch 32:9 aspect ratio QD-OLED curved monitor that boasts of a 240Hz refresh rate, a response time of 0.03ms GtG, a built-in 30W DTS speaker system, and an Ambiglow surround lighting.

The Philips Evnia 49M2C8900 OLED gaming monitor will be available in the UK in mid-September with an MSRP of £1649.99 (approx Rs 1,74,400), while buyers in Europe will have to shell out €1,950 (approx Rs 1,75,700).

The new Philips Evnia monitor gets a 48.9-inch 32:9 aspect ratio QD-OLED display that supports a 240 Hz refresh rate, 5120 x 1440 pixels resolution, a response time of 0.03 ms GtG and 10-bit colours. The panel is certified for DisplayHDR True Black 400 and offers up to 450 nits of peak brightness alongside a colour gamut that covers 99% DCI-P3, equivalent to 153.1% sRGB. The display’s sRGB mode offers a <2 delta E.

Furthermore, the panel has VESA ClearMR (Clear Motion Ratio) 13000 certification, which can ensure blur-free gaming. This monitor has four 7.5-watt speakers, adding up to a 30W output sound system. In addition to the extra wattage, they are also DTS Sound calibrated for an immersive experience.
Connectivity options on the monitor include 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1, 1x USB type-C (with DP-Alt mode and 90W power delivery), and an audio jack. Furthermore, users can control and switch between two devices through a single keyboard and mouse with the built-in KVM. Then, the MultiView mode lets you survey both sources simultaneously on one screen.
There’s further support for Ambiglow technology that enhances the content on the screen by creating a halo of light from the monitor’s rear. Its processor analyses the incoming image content and continuously adapts the colour and brightness of the emitted light to match the image. The new Philips gaming display also has quick-access OSD fine-tuned for gamers, such as racing mode, FPS mode and more.
