Phantom Blade: Executioners, a free-to-play action RPG developed by S-GAME, will globally release on November 2 for PS5, PS4, PC, iOS, and Android. The game features wicked wuxia and side-scrolling slaughter.
Phantom Blade: Executioners is set in the same universe as Phantom Blade Zero, a larger project and the franchise’s reboot that was announced for PlayStation 5 during the PlayStation Showcase earlier this year. Executioners is a prequel to Phantom Blade Zero and tells the story of the mysterious Order that investigates the recent killing sprees by clans that have used the forbidden Sha-Chi body-engineering technique.
The game uses a high-speed move action system that allows players to create different skill chain combos according to their preferences. Long chains, short bursts, and other skills can be adjusted as per the user’s choice. To unleash a skill chain, players need to strike the right timing, thereby allowing them to stack Phantom bonuses on each of their character’s unique skills to improve attributes.

Phantoms are related to the characters and story in the game, and each time players acquire a new Phantom or upgrade one, they unlock a Phantom story. These Phantom stories may impact players’ decision-making and affect how they play out certain scenarios by providing additional story context for each character.
Players can also earn equipment and Phantoms after winning battles. Equipment attributes are random and players can mix and match their gear to find the one that best suits their playing style. The game also features mature content such as blood, violence, and general mature themes.
The developers describe the game as “a journey down a bloody path of love and vengeance between the characters” and note that players must be able to “solve the darkest mysteries”. Phantom Blade: Executioners is the first global release of S-GAME’s Phantom Blade series, that also includes Phantom Blade Zero.
Pre-registration is now available across all platforms via the official website. Once the game launches, players who pre-register will receive exclusive rewards such as Phantoms, equipment, and in-game currency.
