Panasonic has announced the Sound Slayer GNW10, the latest addition to its Sound Slayer gaming speaker lineup. The Sound Slayer series is a wireless ‘wearable immersive gaming speaker system’ (or WIGSS) and the latest GNW10 acts as the successor to the older SC-GN01. Read further to know what else it offers.

The new gaming wearable speaker from Panasonic goes on sale sometime in December 2023, with a price tag of £299.99 (approx Rs 31,300), and will be sold directly from Panasonic’s own platforms.
Panasonic Sound Slayer GNW10: Features
The Sound Slayer from Panasonic comprises of a four-speaker system to deliver immersive audio. It sits on your shoulders in a shape similar to a neck pillow. Panasonic says the wearer shouldn’t feel fatigued while wearing it as it is ergonomically shaped to sustain longer wearing. The device also has buttons for controlling volume, muting and switching sound modes. It also sports two LEDs that work as indicators as well as to enhance the visual appeal.

It is offered with a wireless transmitter which can connect via a USB to the PC, gaming console or other USB audio enabled devices. Panasonic has taken care of a low-latency experience by using a a 2.4GHz band instead of bluetooth, enabling it to reach lower than 20 ms latency, even while receiving up to 6 channels of audio. Further, Panasonic claims the GNW10 packs “newly developed 38mm speakers” and a 60% larger acoustic chamber than it’s predecessor, resulting in a more thumping bass.
There are three sound modes on offer, that have been tuned for various gaming scenarios such as the RPG Mode to create “a sense of intensity and reality” while the FPS Mode “provides accurate audio location to hear subtle sounds like footsteps”, and the Voice mode “enhances human voices”. The Sound Slayer GNW10 from Panasonic further is equipped with two noise-canceling microphones on either of its sides that are also optimised for picking up voices clearly.
