It has been confirmed that Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will be available on Xbox Game Pass from its first release day. This announcement was made during the Xbox Digital Broadcast at Tokyo Game Show. Additionally, Xbox has announced a couple of more games that will be added to Game Pass, one coming as early as next week.
The upcoming ‘Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name’ is set to be released on November 9, 2023. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play the game on the same day it launches. The game follows the original protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu, who faked his death and became a secret agent as he is forced out of hiding by a mysterious enemy. The game features two fighting styles, Yakuza and Agent, as well as various mini-games and side activities.
The next mainline in the series will be Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, which was first announced during the Xbox Games Showcase in June and will follow the stories of Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu. The game will take place in both Isezaki Ijincho in Yokohama, Japan, and Hawaii – the first location in the series set outside Japan. It has a release date of January 26, 2024.
In addition to Like a Dragon Gaiden, another Yakuza spin-off, Like a Dragon: Ishin!, will join Xbox Game Pass later this year. This game is set in the Bakumatsu period of Japan and stars Ryoma Sakamoto, a historical figure who shares the same face as Kiryu. The game mixes historical drama with action-adventure gameplay and has never been released outside Japan. A concrete release date is unknown as of yet. However, we know Ishin and The Man Who Erased His Name will also be available on Windows PCs.
Next, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy will be added to the collection later this month on September 26 while it was also revealed that Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy will follow in early 2024, which is also coming to PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series XIS.
Octopath Traveler 2, which launched on PlayStation, Switch, and PC earlier this year, will be making its way to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Game Pass in early 2024, along with many other titles from Japanese studios. Lastly, the strategy RPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, from 505 Games and Rabbit and Bear Studios, will launch on Xbox and Game Pass on April 23, 2024, as well as on PlayStation, Switch, and PC.
