Lenovo is reportedly working on its flagship gaming laptop, Legion 9i, which will be unveiled at IFA 2023. It will succeed the Legion 7i Pro, and new reports have now revealed the detailed specifications and its launch timeline. It is said that the Legion 9i will boast Lenovo’s proprietary Legion Coldfront liquid-cooling system. Here’s what more it will have to offer.
Lenovo Legion 9i: Launch Timeline, Price (Rumoured)
According to a report from MSPowerUser, the release date of the Lenovo Legion 9i is set for sometime in October. It is rumoured that the exact release date will be unveiled during IFA 2023 in Berlin. As for the price, the Legion 9i is expected to be available for €4,499 (approx Rs 4,05,600).
The leak says the manufacturer has also prepared two backpacks for 9i laptops. These include:
- Lenovo Legion 16” Gaming Backpack GB700 – October 2023 starting at €79.99 (approx Rs 7,200)
- Lenovo Legion 16” Gaming Backpack GB400 – October 2023 starting at €59.99 (approx Rs 5,400)
Lenovo Legion 9i: Specifications (Rumoured)
As far as the specs are concerned, the laptop could sport up to 16-inch 3.2K resolution (3200 x 2000) Mini LED 16:10 display with 165 Hz refresh rate, 3 ms Response Time, 100% Adobe / 100% DCI-P3 coverage, 1200 nits brightness, up to VESA DisplayHDR 1000 Certified along with Dolby Vision, NVIDIA G-SYNC support. It will also have the TUV Rheinland Certification.

The report says that the Legion 9i will sport a one-of-a-kind cooling system, which helps the PC achieve up to 230W TDP. Furthermore, the laptop has a triple-fan air cooling system with 6,333 individual intake vents to ensure optimal airflow. The 13th Generation Intel Core i9-13980HX will power it paired with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU with 16GB GDDR6 VRAM.
It will further have up to 64GB 5600Mhz Dual Channel DDR5 coupled with up to 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. Buyers will get an option between Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro. It will be backed by a 99.99WHr battery and charge at 140W via a 330W slim adaptor. The machine will also sport a 1080p webcam with E-shutter.
As for I/O, users will get 1 x Audio Combo Jack, 1 x SD Card Reader 3.0, 1 x USB Type C (USB 3.2 Gen1), 1 x USB Type A (USB 3.2 Gen 1), 1 x E-Shutter Button, 1 x DC-Inface, 1 x USB Type-A 3.2 Gen1 (Always-on 5V2A), 2 x Thunderbolt 4 (3.2 Gen, DisplayPort 1.4, 140W Power Delivery), 1 x HDMI 2.1 and 1 x RJ45. There’s also a stereo speaker setup of 2W Speakers with Nahimic Audio. Lastly, there’s Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth v5.1 for wireless connectivity.
