The long-awaited moment has finally arrived for fans of the Invincible series, as the launch of a video game inspired by the beloved comic book series is just around the corner. Ubisoft has announced that it is working on a new Invincible game that will bring a brand new storyline set within the Comic series’ universe.
Invincible Guarding the Globe: What is it About?
Ubisoft’s new project is based on the popular comic series from Skybound Entertainment. Invincible follows the action-packed story of Mary Grayson, who is the son of the world’s most powerful superhero, Omni-Man. The comics debuted in 2003 and ran till 2018, even getting an animated TV series back in 2021. Its plot revolves around diverse characters and action sequences with a surprising amount of gore.

Driven by its exhilarating and action-packed setting, fans of the series have been waiting for a video game adaptation. But after years of anticipation, Ubisoft has stepped up to answer this call with its latest announcement. So get ready to dive into a familiar universe but with an original storyline. The game will have you take on an army of evil clones of the superheroes by forming squads with five different characters. Each of these will fulfill distinct roles such as attacker, defender, or supporter. Invincible’s author, Robert Kirkman, has also expressed his excitement about the upcoming game which brings a multiplayer RPG experience that allows players to engage in numerous battles simultaneously.
But It’s Not All Good News
While an Invincible game has been long overdue, Guarding the Globe might not satisfy a fan’s action-packed superhero fantasy. The new Ubisoft title is a free-to-play mobile game, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing if done right. However, the game is an idle squad RPG. In other words, you probably won’t get to fly around and pummel villains like in the recent Marvel games. Invincible: Guarding the Globe also has no official launch date either and is just expected to arrive “soon”.
