Earlier this week, Bethesda released the highly anticipated sci-fi game called Starfield. However, their next project appears to be more down-to-earth and familiar. An executive from the company has hinted at the development of a new video game based on the Indiana Jones franchise. Here’s everything we know so far.
Bethesda’s Indiana Jones: What we know so far?
The renowned video game publisher announced the Indiana Jones project in 2021, revealing that the new title was in development. Bethesda is working on the game with MachineGames and is partnering up with Lucasfilm Games for this project. But after the early teaser, no fresh information about the upcoming Indiana Jones game came to light.

However, Bethesda Director Todd Howard finally teased some information about the project. While finer details are still at large, the executive stated that more information will be revealed next year. This means that the official release of the new Indiana Jones game is still far away. Although, Todd Howard’s conversation with Esquire does hint at what kind of game it could be.
Indiana Jones could be another open-world RPG
Todd told Esquire, “I am a giant Indiana Jones fan. It can be brought to video games in a unique way. The game is obviously: you’re exploring stuff. It’s about him. So if you’re playing the game, how do you feel that you are indeed playing versus just watching?” Going by this statement, the Indiana Jones video game will likely explore Indiana Jones’ (the iconic protagonist of the movie franchise, which is played by Harrison Ford) character in a new narrative.

In other words, we can expect to see a single-player story mode. Bethesda is a veteran of open-world RPGs with massive titles like Fallout, Elder Scrolls, and more under its belt. So it won’t be surprising if the gaming company allows users to walk in the shoes of Indiana Jones and take on brand-new adventures. Keep in mind that this is just speculation at the moment, so take this report with a pinch of salt.
