A survey conducted by Lenovo in collaboration with The Esports Club has revealed fascinating information about gamers in India. The survey provides a thorough analysis of Indian gamers, shedding light on their habits and immediate surroundings.
So Who Games in India?

Lenovo and TEC survey had over 18,000 participants from more than 70 cities in India. Out of this figure, 89% of all gamers in the country are apparently under the age of 24, which is significantly lower than the global average. The average age of gamers across the globe is 35 years or 11 years higher than India’s average. Most Indian gamers are also students, with 71% of these gamers pursuing education while continuing gaming as a hobby.
Parents in India are not against Gaming
Parents of gamers have often been depicted as having a negative outlook toward gaming in popular media. But it appears that most Indian parents actually support it. The survey found that 30% of gamers have received active encouragement, while 36% of them have received occasional support. Only 34% or a third of the gamers have faced disapproval from parents. With gaming becoming more accessible than ever before, the popularity of video games as a hobby and its acceptance in houses likely grew in recent times.
Most Indian Gamers are Competitive and Play Everyday

The Indian gaming community is massive and seems to prefer competitive gaming the most. 60% of them are casual esports that enjoy playing online with their friends. Meanwhile, 13% are pro esports players, 9% prefer to play AAA titles, and just 4% are hyper casual players. The survey found that around 64% of Indian gamers play daily, 24% play games several times a week, and only 4% game once per month. The average time spent gaming is around 1-3 hours for 54% of them, whole 18% play for less than an hour, and 28% play for more than 3 hours.
