The esports academy aims to enhance India’s competitiveness in the newly recognized sports category for Asian Games and Olympics, according to sports minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia. Esports was included as a medal sport in the 2022 Asian Games and even served as the pilot event for the Commonwealth Games 2022.
