India's first esports academy

Share Story:

Madhya Pradesh has launched a unique academy to nurture professional esports athletes, aiming to revolutionize the sector in India..

Unleashing India’s Gaming Potential

Competitive gaming in India is an emerging industry and the state of Madhya Pradesh is seeking to unleash the esports potential with this new academy. It also plans to launch a talent search program, which will bring in esports enthusiasts between 12 to 17 years old. The esports academy, operating under the state government’s sports department, will organize a 10-day tournament, providing a platform for young esports aspirants to showcase their gaming prowess.

The esports academy aims to enhance India’s competitiveness in the newly recognized sports category for Asian Games and Olympics, according to sports minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia. Esports was included as a medal sport in the 2022 Asian Games and even served as the pilot event for the Commonwealth Games 2022.

India’s first esports academy launch is groundbreaking, legitimizing esports and growing the gaming landscape for youth career prospects. The industry expects explosive growth, drawing major esports organizations to India.
