Genshin Impact, the popular open-world action RPG game, has revealed the details of its upcoming version 4.1 update, also dubbed the Anniversary update. It is scheduled to launch on September 27 and last until November 8, 2023. The update, titled “To the Stars Shining in the Depths”, will introduce new characters, areas, events, weapons, and more to the game.
The version 4.1 update will continue the story of Fontaine, the sixth region of Teyvat, which was introduced in version 4.0. Players can explore a vast underwater fortress called the Fortress of Meropide, where Fontaine exiles its criminals. There, they will encounter Childe, one of the Fatui Harbingers, who has a mysterious connection to Fontaine’s history. The update will also feature the subsequent acts of the Archon Quest Chapter IV – Act III and Act IV.
Two new playable characters will debut in version 4.1: Neuvillette and Wriothesley. Neuvillette is a 5-star Hydro Catalyst user, the daughter of Fontaine’s Grand Duke and a talented poet. She can summon water droplets that deal Hydro damage and heal her allies. Wriothesley is a 5-star Cryo Catalyst user who is a mysterious traveller from another world. He can fight through his ice fists that deal with Cryo damage and freeze enemies.
