Gangster Crime

Share Story:

Gangster Crime, Mafia City, is a game developed by Zego Global Publishing. It is an open-world, free-roam RPG game that allows players to experience being a gangster and running the mafia. Similar to games like GTA or Sleeping Dogs, Gangster Crime, Mafia City follow its own rules and run wild. Finishing missions and joining gangs as you become more and more influential in the city.

Despite the fun concept, this game comes with its good and bad. After thoroughly playing and analyzing all the aspects of Gangster Crime, Mafia City, we have come up with a review that will help you figure out whether you want to try the game. So, without further delay, let’s dive in!

THE GOOD

Interesting Concept

A free roam open-world game for mobile sounds like a fun concept. A game revolving around gangsters and gangbanging is a fun experience for a little while but gets boring as you just keep completing the missions. Running around robbing and killing people as you mark your territory is the best part of this game.

Gangster Crime, Mafia City Gameplay

Big Map

Gangster Crime, Mafia City has a huge map that you can drive around and explore. Players can even get on top of Buildings and fly helicopters. Since the map is quite extensive, there are a lot of areas with fantastic views and things to do.

THE BAD

Irritating Ads

The quantity of Ads in this game is ridiculous. I watched 14 Ads in the first 10 minutes of the game. This was a test of patience as every time you interact with anything in the game, there is a 1-minute unskippable Ad. I can understand for a free game to have a few Ads here and there, but this made the game pretty much unplayable.

Graphics

The graphics in this game were laughable; there was no clarity in the gameplay. The designs and models of the game look like something out of a PS1 game (PS1 came out in 1994). In addition, the character movement was highly clunky and ruined the game’s feel.

Sound Effects

The sound effects had to be a joke by the developers. For example, when you die in this game, you hear the Vine Sad Violin SFX. All the sound effects in this game came from old Vines, which made me feel like I was playing a troll game for a while. Although these effects made me laugh, objectively speaking, they do not fit or contribute to the gameplay in any fashion.

The User Interface

The UI of this game is truly a work of art; it looked so hideous that it made me want to stop playing on several occasions. The added irritation from the constant Ads, the clunky movement mechanics, and the horrible sound effects made the User Interface feel worse than it already was. Although the developers added features like improving your character’s abilities and stats, it looks clunky and bad.

Bugs

Aside from the gripes mentioned above that I have with this game, Gangster Crime, Mafia City is just filled with bugs and glitches that make the gaming experience even more miserable. Things like the helicopter not even flying, you getting teleported across the map, bullets not registering and falling from a height, etc. Having a mission to steal a helicopter but not being able to fly the helicopter was truly a genius idea by the developers.

Driving

The only possible thing the developers could have nailed was the driving, and they managed to botch this as well. Not being able to set the camera angle and having the camera angle constantly change while driving gave me a headache and car accidents as I could not see in front of me.

VERDICT

If the name Gangster Crime, Mafia City wasn’t ridiculous enough, the gameplay definitely was. I don’t usually give negative reviews to games but having to sit through unskippable Ads every 30 seconds left a horrible impression on me. Aside from the Ads, the gameplay looks nothing like the pictures, and the UI is simply off-putting.

If you are someone wondering whether or not you should try this game, my advice is that you rather not at least until the game has been updated or improved from its current state, because as the game is right now, it’s nothing short of an embarrassment to gangsters across the world.

Gangster Crime, Mafia City is available to download on Google Play and the App Store.
