With the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar coming to a legendary finale, historical records are broken which led to celebrations as well as tears across the globe. The football fever is at an all-time high, and eFootball 2023 is one of the best outlets for fans to continue enjoying the sport. eFootball 2023 lets players experience the thrill of competing in the sport of football from the comfort of their mobile devices. Set up strategies, develop players and score unbelievable goals as you try to recreate legendary moments.
Despite the highly immersive experience, eFootball 2022 has both merits and demerits. After thoroughly analyzing all the aspects of eFootball 2022, we have come up with a review that will help you determine whether it offers what you’re looking for. So without further delay, let’s dive in!
THE GOOD
Graphics
eFootball 2023, developed by Konami, formerly known as PES, is one of the biggest football gaming franchises on multiple consoles. The game offers some of the best graphics and textures for players which provide a level of depth to the gaming experience. All the legendary and top-class players are distinguishable, along with their playstyle and celebrations.

Gameplay
One of the biggest make-or-break factors in sports games is the smoothness of the gameplay. Having stable servers to match against players and smooth animations during the matches truly elevated this game from good to great. In addition, the transition animations and mode selection phase was extremely well-done.
eFootball 2023 has a pack-opening animation, which also features some cool angles of the newly signed players.

Licensed Teams
eFootball 2023 features multiple well-known football clubs and teams for which Konami obtained a license to put in the game. Some teams include AC Milan, Aston Villa, Barcelona, Manchester United, and National rosters, including the World Cup champion – Argentina, among others.

Online Multiplayer Game
eFootball 2023 is an online competitive multiplayer game; you play against AI teams but also against actual users worldwide. Winning games to rise to higher divisions in the league and facing off against the best of the best. Since the game is extremely competitive and popular, users are forced to learn various strategies and tactics to overcome the quality gap between rosters.
Developing Players
Another interesting feature we noticed in eFootball 2023 was the ability to level up players through winning games and gaining XP. This feature allows players to stick to their initial roster and improve players individually to become stronger. Such a feature allows players to thoroughly grind the game and not be forced to sign players to improve.

Private Rooms
Users can play matches against their friends by opening private rooms; they can choose to play using their Dream Team or choose to play using Authentic rosters, much like the console edition of FIFA and PES.
THE BAD
Pay-To-Win
Despite the added development feature, eFootball 2023 much like its contemporaries, focuses on the cash-grabbing aspect as well. Making gold coins, which are needed to open good quality packs, is nearly impossible to get. As a result, players that spend actual money tend to have an extremely unfair advantage over players that choose to grind their way up.
This pay-to-win aspect is extremely obvious once you reach the higher ranks, and that’s when the game becomes challenging and frustrating. We were hoping eFootball 2023, with its recently added “Match Pass”, would address this issue, but that wasn’t the case.
VERDICT
eFootball 2023 has to be one of the best football games available on iOS and Android, if not the best. It has fantastic visuals, an extremely competitive player base, smooth animations, unique textures and designs, and a simple User Interface. Aside from the pay-to-win aspect of the game, which mostly affects players trying to reach higher divisions, it is one hell of an experience for the casual player base.
If you are still caught up in the football fever from the Worldcup, the eFootball 2023 is one game that I recommend. Feel free to check it out; it is available on Google Play and the App Store.
