A new trailer has officially confirmed the release of the EA Sports WRC (World Rally Championship) racing game. This game, which promises to bring the excitement of rally racing to the next level, is set to launch later this year. Let’s take a closer look at the trailer and all the revealed details.
What’s EA Sports WRC all about?
Following various teasers, Electronic Arts officially confirmed the World Rally Championship in a trailer video. As the name suggests, the game will be based on rally racing and lets gamers take the wheel of a car speeding into challenging terrain. It features over 600km of stage miles, based on the current WRC season. EA Sports will have you drive the hybrid Rally1 machines from Toyota, M-Sport Ford, Hyundai, and others.

The game is being developed by Codemasters and is built on Unreal Engine. Since it’s based on the sport, you can expect to race against the clock across various stages and thrilling landscapes. Notably, the title marks the first time developer Codemasters acquired the rights to the championship but has worked on similar titles like Colin McRae Rally and DiRT Rally series of racing games.
As per official notes, EA calls the upcoming WRC game a new sim racing title, which features the Dynamic Handling System (an enhanced racing system Codemasters used in previous titles). For rally enthusiasts, the company even brought on board European Rally Championship ERC3 champion and game designer Jon Armstrong for inputs on the game to ensure gamers get an experience close to a professional driver.
