It’s been almost two years since the release of the popular zombie survival game Dying Light 2, but developer Techland is still adding new content and features to keep players engaged. Recently, the studio unveiled its Dying Light 2 content roadmap for the upcoming months, highlighting what fans can expect this fall and winter, such as fresh missions, firearms, and more.
Firearms, Crossovers, Improvements and more
According to the roadmap trailer, Dying Light 2 will receive new missions, including co-op missions, board quests, and replayable GRE anomalies. These special events occur randomly in the game world and challenge players with various objectives and rewards. The trailer also teased a new Tower Raid mode, which seems like a mode where players have infiltrated a heavily guarded skyscraper.
One of the most anticipated features of Dying Light 2 is the addition of firearms. This is because the game has been mostly focused on melee combat and parkour, but soon, players can wield shotguns, rifles, and pistols against the undead hordes. The trailer also showed new weapon categories, such as knives and polearms, and a new weapon rarity level.

Then, there will be more enemy variants and a new Nightmare difficulty mode for those who want a more challenging experience. Additionally, the game will introduce more executions and finishers. These brutal moves can be performed on enemies who are low on health or stunned.
The content roadmap also revealed some quality-of-life improvements coming to Dying Light 2, such as cross-save functionality, which will allow players to transfer their progress between different platforms. The Xbox Series S version of the game will also get an FOV slider, which will let players adjust the camera’s field of view. Other graphical options, such as bloom and motion effects, will also be introduced in the upcoming updates.
Finally, the roadmap announced some upcoming events and crossovers, such as a crossover with Vampire: The Masquerade later this month for Halloween. It is a popular role-playing game franchise in a world of vampires and supernatural creatures. Later this year, Dying Light 2 will celebrate its second anniversary with a special event that will reward players with exclusive items and bonuses. The game will also have a winter celebrations event that will bring some festive decorations and activities.
Techland did not specify the exact release dates for these updates but promised to share more details soon.
