Blizzard recently announced a new patch for Diablo 4 that brought various balance changes to classes and more. But these updates caused major backlash from the Diablo community with many of the diehard fans urging Blizzard to revert these changes.
Where did Blizzard go wrong with Diablo 4’s Patch 1.0.1?
During the Season of the Malignant in Diablo 4, the launch of Patch 1.0.1 brought various changes that were widely criticised by the players. The fans of the game even began review-bombing the title on Metacritic, bringing its rating down to just 2.5. Some of the more hated changes include nerfs to Sorcerers and other classes.

But it doesn’t just end there as Blizzard silently brought changes to the level requirements to World Tier 3 and Tier 4. Patch 1.0.1 would restrict access to the higher tiers till your character level hit 40 and 60 respectively. These changes were overshadowed by the nerfs to classes but Blizzard later decided to hit undo and removed the level requirements entirely. Now, the upcoming patch 1.1.1 seeks to fix things even further.
Fixing the damage: Diablo 4 Patch 1.1.1
Patch 1.1.1 is set to become available on 8th August 2023, with the full patch notes dropping later today. One of the primary objectives of this patch is to buff the Barbarian and Sorcerer classes. The developer team was transparent with the process and was praised for their prompt response in their recent Campfire Chat, a series of streams where they discuss changes and feedback from the community live on YouTube.
