Bytten Studio has announced a new major DLC called “Cassette Beasts: Pier of the Unknown” for their popular open-world RPG. This DLC will introduce new monsters, a new area, new story content, and new fusion forms that will allow players to transform into even more powerful beasts using retro cassette tapes.

The DLC will retail for $6.99 (approx Rs 579) and is called the Pier of the Unknown. As mentioned, it features new story content, a new area called Brightside Pier to explore, 12 new monsters to collect, five new costumes, and 4-10 hours of additional gameplay. The DLC will be released for Windows, Linux, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch beginning October 4, 2023.

For those who aren’t aware, Cassette Beasts is a monster-taming game with several similarities to the Pokémon series. The title is available on PC and Nintendo Switch, while Xbox gamers can play the game without paying any additional price apart from the Game Pass subscription fee.

The game currently has over 129 unique monsters to record and transform into, and each monster can be fused with another to create a new fusion form with different abilities and appearances. With the addition of the DLC, this number will go up to 141, while it will now have 19,881 fusions available for players to discover.

The game also features a deep battle system that involves elemental chemistry, debuffs, and critical thinking. It also supports single-player and multiplayer modes, where players can team up or compete with each other online or locally. To further enhance this experience, it was previously announced that Cassette Beasts’s co-op mode will receive an update to include up to eight players online for raid battles. However, there’s no word on when that will happen.

Until that happens, fans of Cassette Beasts can look forward to exploring the Pier of the Unknown, a mysterious location that harbours secrets and dangers beyond imagination.
