Game developer Activision has announced the release date of the much-anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which is set for November 10 of this year. The game is set to succeed Modern Warfare 2 under the Call of Duty series, unveiled back in October. Read on to learn more details about the upcoming title.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 release date was confirmed by Activision via a short teaser trailer on YouTube. The game will be released on November 10 for PC and consoles, with the possible launch for Nintendo Switch also. Apart from the title of the game, other concrete details about the shooter action game are yet to be revealed.
For those not aware, Modern Warfare 3 was originally supposed to be a premium expansion to Modern Warfare 2. However, the developer decided to flip the switch and turn it into a full-fledged release and as a brand new title. It has also been confirmed that for the first time, the game will let players carry over their Modern Warfare 2 data in the form of weapons and other character aspects to Modern Warfare 3.

Rumours abound suggest that classic maps such as Terminal will be making a comeback in the game while the classic mini-map and the Ninja Perk could also be seen returning in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. In February, a Bloomberg report claimed that Modern Warfare III would incorporate maps and modes from the previous year’s release while maintaining the quality of a standalone full-fledge game.
In other related news to Call of Duty, Microsoft has signed a binding agreement with Sony to keep the Call of Duty franchise on the Sony Playstation platform as the PC maker acquired the developer of the series – Activision Blizzard. The deal has a duration of 10 years.
